Uppercut Deluxe at Born Free
Uppercut Deluxe has a passion for motorbikes, so what better place to showcase our products than a vintage motorcycle show? Held June 27 and 28 at California’s majestic Oak Canyon Ranch, Born Free brings together thousands of people every year, with the young and old coming from far and wide to check out over 150 vendors. The premise of the show is based on the idea of people building and riding their own vintage Harleys, Hondas, Indians and Triumphs. There are plenty of iconic motorcycles on display, as well as live music and prizes given out to the best bikes.
It’s a place where vintage choppers and classic bikes take the spotlight, with craftsman, small shop owners and garage builders striving to create something unique and finely finished. The Uppercut Deluxe team turned out in force for the event, setting up a stall featuring a range of our latest products. Many Uppercut Deluxe Global Brand Ambassadors were in attendance; Dane Hesse, owner of Eagle and Pig Barbershop, and the Stopniks AKA the Cycle Zombies, who rebuild classic motorbikes and are entrenched in the culture that the show represents.
The entire Cycle Zombies crew was there, and had their own stall set up showcasing bikes and merchandise. Hailing from Orange County in California, the Cycle Zombies live and breathe vintage motorcycle culture, specialising in bringing old bikes back to life.
It was the perfect event for Dane Hesse, aka ‘Pig Barber,’ to demonstrate his unique barbering skills. Owner and barber at Eagle & Pig Barbershop in Costa Mesa, California, Dane uses his business to combine his passion for barbering, old cars, tattoos, motorcycles, handiwork, beer, and surfing. The Uppercut Deluxe team directed the crowd to Dane’s popup barbershop, making sure to provide him with styling products throughout the show. He spent all day cutting hair, trimming plenty of wild bikie beards and taming them with beard balm along the way. All in all, a rad day to be a part of, with the people who really embody Uppercut Deluxe as a brand and a lifestyle.
