We recently teamed up with Urban Outfitters for an event at their Santa Monica store.
The event was designed to promote the launch of their new in-store beauty products offering and we were asked to provide free barber cuts for the night. We packed the truck with our pop-up barber shop and headed up north to Santa Monica!
Our good friend and Uppercut Deluxe ambassador, Dane Hesse (The Pig Barber) joined us for some good times and to provide the cuts for the night. We set up our barbershop right in the middle of the store, and at 6:00 we were open for business. It wasn’t long before we had our first customer in the chair, and from that point on we had a line the rest of the night.
Spectators gathered around and were mesmerised by how the Pig Barber transformed shapeless mops of hair into styled works of art. It’s not often that people get to interact with a brand on such a personal level, so we are always glad when we see a lot of participation at these events.
We had short hair, long hair, guys, girls; everyone was looking for a chance to get in the chair! These events are great because we are able to meet a lot of people and educate them on how the product works, as well as how to style their hair at home. We understand how frustrating it can be to get home from the barber shop and not know how to style your hair the way they did in the shop.
That is why we make it a point to educate our customers on not only the functionality of our products such as beard balm, mo wax or goats milk soap, but also what goes into making each tin of our pomade such a premium product. It is important to take pride in your work and that is exactly what we do.
